My little Rock Star is 4!!!

Can you believe it?! I have a 4 year old!!! How crazy is that?!

For Reid's birthday party we became Rock Stars. I had so much fun preparing for it and Reid had fun making all the important decisions, like the colors for the plates and cups, how his invitation looked and how he wanted his guitar cake to look! Jed said I had to cut back on all the pink (100% honest, Reid choose that color for almost EVERYTHING!) So i allowed pink napkins and the writing on his invitation to be pink, also some frosting on the 'microphone' cup cakes were pink too.

Luckily, Grandma Wells was in town and was able to stop by!

First we made our own microphones!

We played the 'balloon pop' game once everyone showed up. Next time I'll use bigger balloons for the younger children. They pop easier!

Then on to the PINATA!!!

We made our own pinatas. Originally they were to be disco balls, but with the colorful one I added construction paper because I was so worried it was too thin and would break easily. Which is also why i made 2 pinatas!

The green one, I let the kids paint prior that week. Unfortunately it broke off the hanging piece and we couldn't put it back on so we just let them beat it to death!!
and poor alexis (my niece) fractured her tibia the day before they came to town! She learned quickly how to get around!
We made a guitar cake and decorated it with candy! Plus we had 'microphone' cupcakes (we used the icecream cones).

Then of course...presents! The first pix is of the present Grandma Gentry got him, a microphone with a speaker in it so Reid and sing all he wants! Thanx Mom!
The second pix is of some of the kids. They each were able to hold the present they brought for Reid and give it to him once he chose them! It kept them sitting and not trying to help!

I made drums for them to play with and they each got their own guitars (inflatable)!

I think this was the best part! I plugged the camera into the T.V. so they can see themselves on it! they truly were Rock Stars!!!

Mormon Messages

The Church has started posting on YouTube, called Mormon Messages. The most recent one is about Jeffrey R. Holland's talk on how Christ had to make His journey alone, but how we do not because of him! You can find the video on the LDS website, YouTube, or to right right of this post should be the very first one). I've added some clips on my blog for all to easily see them.

I watched the one called, 'None Were With Him', by Jeffrey R. Holland and was overwhelmed with joy for what our Savior has done for us. How He had to go through so much suffering alone, just so that we don't have to.

It's amazing how one simple video can bring the spirit into the homes of those who watch it. If you click on the link to the comments (of the video) you'll see that some non-mormons have watched it and have felt that spirit! I love this Church and know that my Savior, Jesus Christ died for me, for all of us, so that we too can live again! I love how we celebrate His life, and not His death. Though it was an important part, it wasn't the end!

Happy Easter!

Recent Haps!

Here are some resent happenings to bring everyone up to speed on our lives!!! Jed's down to his last 3 weeks of school and is already feeling the burn...out, that is! but he's moving along and continues to do well on his tests! May 1st he graduates!!!

Recently he changed the spark plugs on both vehicles, needless to say the Dodge Truck was 100 times easier than the Mazda (Fords!! sheesh)

Once he was finished, he's finger nails were the only white on his hands!!! Luckily no blood was drawn this time!!!

Once again, I am so grateful to have a husband who knows and enjoys fixing things...though i'm sure he'll want to wait awhile before he has a go at the Mazda again!!! We save so much money because of his ingenious mind!!!

We had a primary activity where we flew some kites. There wasn't much wind, but luckily it was a beautiful day! We had 2 good gusts of wind and Reid was able to keep his kite flying, he did such a good job keeping the string tight!

Reid found something new and has a curious mind like his Daddy, he just had to find out what was inside...A SEED!

Unfortunately, Lliam wasn't able to get his kite up (actually, Mommy wasn't able to keep Reid's and Liam's up at the same time) so he ate some cookies!!!

While Brad, Gina and the fam were out a couple weeks ago, we went to the Bridal Veil Falls. This is the first time the boys have been there!!! There was so much to do...

We rode bikes!

Played in the water!

Skipped Rocks

Played Light Saber Wars! (Click on that second pix and you'll see, pure enjoyment! I love how my boys can play well together!)

And posed for some pictures!

The Red Ring of Death

What's worse than seeing the red circle on your XBOX? Being out of warranty and having to fork over $60 or more to someone who can fix it.

Since we don't have money for such reasons (not a NEED even though Jed will try to justify it as one...i did miss rock band though...), we went without for awhile.

What's better than watching MacGyver? Having your own MacGyver at home who can always come up with "The Other Way" to fix things and save money!

While taking a break from studying, Jed decided he wanted to tinker! After looking online and messing with his XBOX, he was able to fix it!!!
I am so lucky to have a handy-man around the house (not just to fix the XBOX) but he is able to repair all kinds of things! Love you babe!!!

Just in time for Easter

I found this site off of my friend Jessica's blog. These ties are soo cute! They have an elastic band that would go around the neck so the little ones can't pull them off! Plus, you can send her some old ties of your hubbies and the measurements for your son and she can refit it for your little one!!! I'm planning on doing this for Easter. Jed has so many ties, I think it would be fun for them to have one of Daddy's ties! Just thought I'd pass on the great find!
Here's her website:
