Digital Scrapbooking and Emily Shaw

Just thought I'd help my friend out and pass this along. She is AMAZING at digi scrapbooking and can pretty much answer all your questions. She has some sample ones on her sight (Steve and Emily Shaw-just click on their link).

"So, for those of you who live around here and who want to do digital scrapbooking, we’re trying to get at least 10 people to sign up for a digital scrapbooking class in Springville. I love teaching others how to digi scrap and Annette and a few others think this will be a great way to teach others and help Steve out with the finances. If you’re interested at all, please let me know!"

She also has a website where she will do baby, wedding anouncements, Christmas/ Birthday cards...or anything else you can imagine. Check it out!

We Love Texas!

We're here in Austin, Texas so you probably won't see another post until sometime next week. So far it's been a blast. The weather has been pretty nice, not too bad. Especially in the evening. The boys are in Cozumel and are of course having a blast as well. We'll be sure to post lots of pictures when we get back!

Our Week in a Nut Shell!

WOW! So much has happened and I have had no time to post. So here's a 'brief' clip of our past week...

Sunday 13: Happy Birthday Reid! Reid turned 3 and i can't believe it! My little boy may be small in stature but not in mind and heart. He is such a smart and imaginative boy with so much love.

Monday 14: My Mom and Cassidy, Jace and Alexis arrived. We had fun with a late night of playing. They surprised us with Great Grandma Gentry!

Tuesday 15: Happy Birthday Celeste! Too bad you were in Equador and we couldn't call you! Hope you had a great time.
We also had Reid's birthday party on this day. Reid wanted a pirate party and we had a blast! We made telescopes, threw treasure in the treasure chest, opened presents, had cake and icecream, hunted for the ticking crocodile and went on a treasure hunt! It was loud and crazy, just the way we like it.
Sara, Cassidy and Bentley decorating telescopes. (They dressed up as princesses, the pirates prisoners)

Cameron and Prescott throwing 'treasure'.

Ethan was a great helper! And Surprisingly most of the kids stayed sitting and didn't try to help!

Listening for the ticking crocodile!

The loot after the treasure hunt!

The group (most of them). They all sang Happy Birthday to Reid again and he loved it (thus the cheesy grin!) Emily, I want/need that recording of Reid blowing out the candles (and any other pix you have). Thanx

(Oh and we turned in our taxes today! we have NEVER been this late)

Wednesday 16: Happy Birthday Josh! I know I promised this a couple days ago, but hey..better late than never! Good luck on your new job!

Today was Jed's last day of work! No more RC Willey! It's scary but the right thing!
The boys and I slept with grandma and the cousins at Aunt Rachel's house...thanx for letting them stay!

Thursday 17: This morning we were going to go to the Bean Museum with Cassidy and Jace and Grandma, but their car wouldn't start and that was the last straw for my mom! Ever since she started on this trip (from mesquite to orem) there has been a couple things that have happened. The first thing was their car wouldn't start. They got that fixed and after 3 stops before St. George (it only takes 30 min to get there), the picked up great grandma gentry and finally made it to orem (only a couple hours behind schedule). A couple days later, the baby alexis broke out in a rash all over her arms and legs and Jace had an infection on his heel (lots of puss where his skin was punctured and red lines were going up his foot). Mom took them to InstaCare and was given medicine for both (luckily alexis was just an allergic reaction, to what though we don't know). So mom had decided to leave Thursday afternoon. Anyway, to make a long story a bit longer, we ended up going to Chuck E Cheeses, the kids had a blast, went back, loaded up the car and they took off. Whew!

Friday 18: This day was full of cleaning, cleaning, and more cleaning. Since the past couple of days we played, the house needed it greatly!

Saturday 19: Today was filled with cleaning, errands, cleaning, laundry, packing and finally blogging!

Sunday 20: (I know we're not there yet, but i'm letting you in on our plans!)
This day will be filled with more cleaing, laundry and packing. Church of course! The sometime in the evening (or night), Grandma, Grandpa Burton and Sam will arrive because...

Monday 21: WE LEAVE FOR COZUMEL AND TEXAS!!!!!! The boys are gong to Cozumel for a first and last (for awhile) trip before Sam goes on his mission this year. Us girls got jealous and planned a little trip of our own. Unfortunately Kat won't be able to make it :( and Ane and Alta :(. But we'll be thinking of you!
I am sooo excited to take the boys on the plane and to be in Austin. Reid keeps talking about it! (The plane)

Utah Flash

Last night we were given tickets to the Utah Flash basketball game. Unfortunately Jed wasn't feeling too well and William was teething so we decided that Reid and I would still go. We also took my cousins Logan and TJ. The boys were interested in the beginning but come half time all they wanted to do was play on the rail! They had a great time and enjoyed the yelling, being as loud as you can and not getting in trouble for it. And let's not forget the dancing!

The Boys on the rail. They would scoot up it then slide down it!

I tried to take some pictures of them all but two of them didn't want to cooperate!

FINALLY!

Of course we had to have a silly one!
The video is of the boys dancing to the music. Really there was music playing, it's just hard to hear!

Walking, Smiling, Bowling, Haircuts, Poop and Ants

We went out to Grandpa's and Grandma's house for Conference weekend. We enjoyed the time we were able to spend with everyone. Alta came out also and after guard, Michael. Here are some of the pictures of one of my favorite boys.

He would never walk down the slope! He's such a funny boy.
Here's some pictures of my other favorite boy...

We got there Saturday night and Sam was going bowling. Reid wanted to go so he and Alta took him. Unfortunately the bowling alley closes at 10PM (not enough time to play when they got there). So they came home and set up a bowling alley for Reid. he did use a ball at first but decided that kicking was more fun.
The boys needed their hair cut and I;m not the best at it when they're this young. So I asked Alta to do it for me. You definitely need 2 people to cut a young child's hair, 1 to hold and 1 to cut! Reid wasn't too thrilled with the idea, but he sat still with Grandma. They watched a show with dogs that were dressed up in clothes acting like humans...interesting!
Later, when it warmed up, we went outside to see the calves. As we were walking back Reid would jump over the poop! He stopped when he noticed the ants and said,"I can't jump over it or the ants will get me."

The Bean Museum

Last Monday we went to The Bean Museum at BYU with our friends the Shaws and the Peteresens. We had a lot of fun looking at all the animals. Reid and Spencer are very good friends and always love it when they get together. They had so much fun checking everything out.

We made it in time to see the live reptile show where they showed some live animals and we were able to touch them. It was fun watching how each child reacted to the animals.

The Big Jump!

Jed did it! He resigned from his job. We're scared but excited about it. We'll be living for about a year without a constant income while Jed attends school full time. If everything goes the way we hope, he will graduate in April of 2009. Then from there...that's a whole other story! One to come later because we don't know for sure. Baby Steps! We're still hoping for Texas, but we'll cross that path when we come to it.
I babysit for the family upstairs from us, so our payment is rent and utilities (that helps A LOT). I'll be doing some other babysitting jobs (and maybe a small preschool) while Jed might be doing some home automation installation jobs. With that and learning how to eat in and what's better (cheaper) to buy and making a couple more financial adjustments, we'll survive.
Your love and support will be greatly appreciated also. That too will get us through this new lifestyle. This is especially difficult for Jed, so any words of encouragement for him would be great. Thank you all for your friendship and love.
Also, if anyone has any good advice on insurance, we would greatly appreciate it. We need to find some for us and the boys soon. (We have till the end of this month)
And, if anyone were wanting to purchase anything from RC Willey (electronics or appliances) do it NOW because Jed's last day of work is the 16th!
