2nd Child Gets Forgotten :(

Now I know why De is called the "Forgotten Child". No I didn't forget William anywhere, I've just noticed that Reid is the star of this blog and there is hardly anything about William. It's not that I don't take pictures of him, Reid is just more active and does things that stand out. William is definitely quieter! So here's to William...
(It's a tag I made up and pass to Gavin, Anya, Bennet, Carson, Spencer and Jace)
(Some of the videos are a little long, so watch what you want and skip the rest, though all of it is really cute...i'm not biased or anything)!

Full Name: William Thor Burton (Thor came from Daddy, hopefully it will bring me good luck like it has him)

Age, Weight, Height, etc: 15 months and 11 days...17 pounds...I'm no where near the charts weight-wise (my doctor isn't worried, i weigh 1 1/2 pounds more than Reid did at this age!) Height I'm about 10% and head I am 61%! yeah, gotta have something to hold my big brain in place!

Favorite Food: I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE bananas. I will eat 2 a day if my mommy lets me. I like oatmeal in the morning (I'll eat the whole bowl). Hot dogs are one of my favs (I'll eat a whole one). Basically any fruit i will eat it right up and continue asking for more.

Disliked Foods: I'm not too partial on vegetables, though my mommy keeps trying to give them to me. Anything with a strong flavor I don't care for either. I will however try most things, I am getting to the age where I can be picky.

Favorite Toys: I love balloons, I can play with those forever. And don't you dare try taking it away from me when I have to go to bed, I will throw a screaming fit then cry forever in my crib just to annoy you!

Favorite Activities: I enjoy stroller rides (hopefully it'll get warm again so mommy can take me out). I absolutely love taking baths. Whenever I hear the water running I take off and try to climb in (mommy is glad I'm not tall enough yet because I usually still have my clothes on). i enjoy walking around, as long as I have my walker. my doctor says it's a confidence thing that i need to get over. mommy hopes it'll be soon. i love playing with my big brother Reid and hanging out with daddy. i'm more of a daddy's boy than a momma's boy (unless i haven't seen my mommy in a long time, then i prefer her). i love going on a bear hunt with mommy and reid. whenever we find the 'bear' (daddy), we run to reid's bed and hide under the covers. then the bear comes and finds us! that's my favorite part, i always get soooo excited. I do like to do some quiet stuff (that's different from my big brother-he's always on the go. but i like to stop and slow down every once in awhile).

Words I Can Say: I don't say much right now. I can say daddy, bye bye (di di), thank you (ta u), uh oh (with my hands up)and see. I like to point to things, get all excited about it and say 'SEE!' I'm curious about this world. I can sign also...please, thank you, more, eat, banana, light, puppy and fish. Mommy tried to record me doing it, but I didn't want to perform. I can also blow my nose, mommy is happy about that one!

Mommy Moment Traits: I can blow kisses (actually here in my family, we throw them)! I like to give hugs and kisses too.

Reid's Chore Chart

Thanks to Emily Shaw for the trains and the idea, we made Reid a chore chart and he loves it!

Hanging Out With The Aunts (and Cousin)

During Ane's birthday, the girls stopped by to say hi and to hang out with Reid (he loves the attention). They were goofing off and Reid was taking pictures and these are what he came up with...enjoy! (Can we say blackmail?!)

Reid wanted to help Spencer unwrap his presents, but I gave him the job of taking pictures. here's some that he took of Spencer opening presents!

After presents we had cake and ice cream. William thought it was a hit. Then the kids played while the adults chatted.

Spouse Tag

I've seen this on a couple blogs and finally have the time to do it. I encourage all to do it, it's fun to her about each other!

What is his name? Jedediah Thor Burton (He once got out of a ticket because of his middle name. The policeman said, 'anyone with a middle name like Thor can't be a bad guy')

How long have you been married? 5 years, 6 months, 27 days and 15 hours-but who's counting?

How long did you date? 7 weeks (but were engaged for 4 months)

How old his he? 31

Who eats more? It's close, I eat a couple meals during the day and Jed eats less meals but more at the time.

Who said I love you first? He did (I wasn't too sure at the time, but the next day I did)

Who is taller? Jed

Who can sing better? Again Jed

Who is smarter? Most definitely Jed, He's a wealth of useless information!

Who does the laundry? I do, when I actually get to it!

Who does the dishes? Both, but mostly me though

Who pays the bills? I do, I'm in charge of the finances. Is that a good idea?

Who sleeps on the right side? Looking at the bed: Jed, the door is closer to the left and I can get to the kids quicker (and hear them better), so I'm on the left.

Who mows the lawn? Right now, neither one of us. The owners pay someone to do it. In our old place, Jed did because it was a driving one and I didn't know how to work it (at least that's what I told him!) No really, it's true.

Who cooks dinner? Which ever restaurant we go to! (Our weakness) We both cook. Jed will say he does most of the time but we're about even.

Who drives? I do mostly, because we're usually in the vehicle I drive (has the car seats). Unless I make him.

Who is more stubborn? Definitely Jed ( I give in because I don't care to argue)

Who kissed who first? Jed did, but I wanted it!

Who asked who out first? Jed did (However the first time we met and spent time together was by chance at a dance)

Who proposed? Which proposal? The first time was at club Omni when we both said we went to the Temple and received the answer to marry. The second time he did, after he asked my Dad for permission (he didn't even get down on his knee!) The third time when he surprised me with the ring, this time was better, with guitar, singing and the knee!

Who has more friends? We both have about the same, however Jed makes friends the easiest.

Who is more sensitive? Definitely me. I'm getting better at not getting offended, though.

Who has more siblings? Jed by 1.

Who wears the pants? Jed says, "No man in his right mind would answer anything else but "you dear" So me!

I'm Singing in the 'Cold' Rain

Before we left for church, it was a warm, sunny day. I told Reid he could play outside after church. However, as the 3 hours went by it decided to rain, and not stop. When we got home, Reid wanted to play outside. Because earlier I told him he could, I let him (knowing it wouldn't last too long). It was pretty chilly, but he's all boy and the cold didn't bother him much!

Is it Summertime Yet?!

What happens when you put together a small-long table, a couch-with lots of cushions, a stool for the little ones and a small bike? WINTER OLYMPICS INDOORS!

I'd say we're ready for the snow to stop and for the sun to come out and stay so we can play outside!

Healthy Recipes

Jed and I are trying to eat healthier and we are looking for some good, healthy recipes. We are willing to try new things, so don't hold back! We are mostly looking for smoothie recipes (ones to mix vegetables and fruit), yummy salads and clear liquid soups. However, if you have others that do not fall under those categories, we'd still like to get them. Thank you in advance!

cute craft

I found this cute craft on my friend jessica's site and she found it on Martha Stewart's website. It looks easy enough...only 2 steps!

*Instructions

Give an orphaned pillowcase a new home -- over your shoulder.

1. Trim 1/4 inch off the closed end, and cut the case in half on the diagonal. Turn the fabric of each of the four diagonal cut edges over by 1/4 inch, twice; pin, and hem.

2. Place one pillowcase half inside the other, lining up bottom edges; pin, and sew at front where fabrics overlap. Repeat on other side. Turn fabric inside out, and hem case's cut bottom. Trim with pinking shears. Turn case right side out, tie top ends into a knot, and you have a carefree summer bag.

Kids Going Home!

Playing in Mesquite

The weather was wonderful and the kids didn't want to go back inside. After a long winter of being stuck indoors, it was a great change. Too bad Reid, William and I had to return to the cold place and be stuck inside again.

Are we there yet?!

About an hour into our trip, Jace got a bloody nose! Then in Vegas (about 15 minutes away) we had to stop to go to the bathroom (EVERYONE). We made it just past Barstow (thank you to whomever invented the DVD player in the car!) Potty break and switched drivers...eventually we made it to Fresno pretty close to on time. The trip back had more potty stops, we were greatful when everyone fell asleep at the same time for a couple hours! One tip on driving long distance...bring along suckers. It may get sticky but you can always clean it up and it keeps them quiet for a LOOONG time!

To Grandma's house we go!

Just last weekend, my sister, Celeste and I (and our 5 kids) all traveled down to California to visit our family and help redo Candi's room. My boys and I left Monday evening to "avoid the storms." Once we got to Beaver the storms were over (luckily it got dark once the storms were over also). We had a great time there and enjoyed every minute of it. The most eventful times would definitely be the car rides, with all 5 kids crammed in the car, never a dull moment. Except on the way home when they ALL fell asleep at the same time for 2 hours!! That was wonderful, the longest stretch we had without stopping! It's easy to say we all were happy to be home and back in our own beds.
