So it's been about 11 years since I last moved to a different State and it was just me then so everything fit in 1 car...now there's 4 of us and some days I just don't know where to begin! Since I will be having a baby just before we move (perfect timing right?!) I'm trying to get A LOT done now when I have the energy.
Does anyone have any advice on where I can start or things they have done to help the move go along easier? Any packing and moving advice would be WONDERFUL!

Are you moving yourselves entirely? Are you renting a truck, or are you making more than one trip? If you are packing your own boxes, I would suggest starting with a room and packing everything you won't use until after the baby (wrapping breakable or difficult objects in the softer things. Keep going through all the rooms, labeling each box with exactly what's in it. Pack the boxes of stuff you will need first, last -- and the things you need up to, during, and immediately after the move in containers you can keep accessible.
Nothing new or terribly helpful, but it gives you some motivation without feeling overwhelmed: one or two boxes a day, stash them in the room they will go in... Good luck! Don't be afraid to accept help when it's offered!
Sure hope we get to come see the baby, help load, whatever... Keep updating us here, and take good care of yourself - don't overdo it, little lady!
Sure love y'all,

All the "extra" stuff you have that you hardly ever get out or use - pack those first. Then, have the boys pick a few toys each to keep out and pack the rest of them up. You might even want to do that with clothes as time gets closer to more - pick 1 or 2 weeks worth of clothes and pack the rest. Maybe do the same with towels, etc - just enough to last and have you do laundry. I would look at everything that way - pack 80% of it and keep the rest of it out until closer to time. I need to find a day where I can come and help!
Get rid of anything you haven't used or needed in the last six months. You'll just have to pack it and take it and then unpack it, so just get rid of it now!
I love moving! It it forces me to go through everything, organize, get rid of, try to figure out how to fit into a new space, etc. You're lucky you have so much time to nibble at it until the big day! SO: #1 - start now to just organize and get things cleaned up before packing. Even if you're not ready to box it up, having like things stored together will help. #2: Put as much stuff in boxes as possible. Even bigger stuff. Fill extra space with well padded smaller stuff. It sure makes moving it all easier when it's mostly a bunch of 'cubes.' #3: Protect stuff! Packing paper, towels, even just one of those big rolls of plastic wrap to keep things together and protect surfaces. Things get jostled and squished, so you can't be too careful with stuff you care about. #4: Label, label, label. Be very specific. You'll be glad you did when you need to find something before you're ready to unpack and put away everything.
Good luck! I can come down to help! Heather
