Healthy Recipes

Jed and I are trying to eat healthier and we are looking for some good, healthy recipes. We are willing to try new things, so don't hold back! We are mostly looking for smoothie recipes (ones to mix vegetables and fruit), yummy salads and clear liquid soups. However, if you have others that do not fall under those categories, we'd still like to get them. Thank you in advance!

Dan and I are also trying to eat more healthy, especially more diabetic friendly. A friend suggested that I check out diabetes recipe books from the library, find some recipes I like, then return them. I just checked some out so if I find anything good I will let you know.

My old roommate used to work at Los Hermanos in Lindon and said they would put avocados in their specialty berry drinks. Maybe you've had one there. Avocados are healty, right? :)

we got a tip from somebody to put spinach in your smoothies. you would think you could taste it, but it hides nicely under the yumminess of the fruity tastes.

also, recently I was introduced to a book called deceptively delicious that I wanna buy. I'm not sure about the soup/salad/smoothie ratio to regular recipes. I think it's more about hiding veggies in recipes so your kids will eat healthier without really tasting "gross" healthy stuff.

Kids, Melissa? Don't you mean husbands? Or maybe your husband likes more than one vegetable. Mine doesn't, so this is great to hear that you can hide them in smoothies. He likes those. :)

And Leona, Shan is a health freak and always has been, so I would ask her. :)

Hey, I sent some recipes, but now I'm not sure if I had the right email address. Let me know if you get them okay? I think I'll have to try Emilie's avacado and Melissa's spinach ideas.
