California Dreamin!

Last week the boys and I ventured off to Mesquite to pick up my 2 nieces and nephew. My sister Celeste was going to have a baby so I took her kids and mine to California to visit my parents and to celebrate Candi's graduation. With the 6 of us loaded up, we headed off Wednesday morning. (Just in time too because Celeste had her baby that evening!) The kids were AMAZING on the way down, I couldn't have asked for them to be more perfect! (since it was 5 of them and 1 of me!)

We kept them busy the whole week, but they still managed to drive my family crazy with the loudness and craziness!

The kids pretty much went swimming everyday!

We went to the Friant Fish Hatchery...it was totally free and so much fun (we were able to feed the fish too).

My good friend Melissa and her family were able to come too! It was so good seeing some friends!

After the hatchery we went to Loss Lake for some lunch. The water was freezing cold, but that didn't stop the kids!

We also went to Rodery Park, there is the Zoo, a Playland and Storyland and a bunch of playground and picnic areas that are way fun! We always went to the zoo so this time we went to Storyland and Playland.

I could have stayed longer, but the kids and my family were ready for it to be over. Plus the Hughe's wanted to see their new baby brother! So Monday we loaded them all in the car and took off (this time I had my mom with me so it was even easier!)
Thanks Mom and Dad for letting us crash your house (literally). And Dad, I hope you're enjoying the peace and quiet and cleanliness of you house!

Babies....Mmmmm....

So I was looking at a picture of my friend's Bryan and Helga's new baby girl...she is ADORABLE to say the least. Reid was looking with me, and as I do every time I see a baby, I ask Reid if he wants a baby sister. On this occasion he answered a little differently...

Mom: She's cute, I want a baby girl, don't you?"
Reid: Yeah, and a baby boy.
Mom: A boy and a girl at the same time? You want 2 babies?
Reid: Yeah

We're Still Alive!

just dropping a note to update everyone...
Jed's busy studying, preparing to take the
DAT at then end of this month.
Reid is busy telling me all the letters he sees and that 'BEMIS' spells Toilet! (it's the brand name). Lliam is busy copying reid with everything.
and I am busy babysitting!

We are sooo excited for our california trip next week (so we won't be updating until after we come back). Hope everyone is doing great and things are going well for you all!

Sucking and Talking

For Mother's Day we were out at Grandma and Grandpa Burton's. It was Father's and Son's for Grandpa and he invited Jed and the boys up to go with him (since he didn't have anymore sons at home). I got to spend the weekend with Grandma and a good friend, Kellie and her twins with dinner and a chick flick movie!

The boys had fun at the camp out but also enjoyed hanging out on the farm! Grandpa is a Momma to a baby female calf. If you stick your hand in the calf's mouth, she will suck on it like a pacifier (they have no teeth on the top). It took a bit of coaxing but we were able to get Reid to do (after that he'd always go out and do it again). Lliam wouldn't have anything to do with it!

Originally Uncle Sam wasn't going to call because he just barely went out, however, he wouldn't be able to do it for Grandpa's birthday so he called on Mother's Day! It was great listening to him and hearing about some of the things down in Mexico!
